Steven Heicklen is a FEMA certified Emergency Manager, Member of a USAR search and rescue team, firefighter and an Emergency Medical Technician.  Steven Heicklen is also President and Owner of Jersey Pools and Spas.  As owner of Jersey Pools I manage a staff of up to 50 employees and have been managing debris removal projects for over 20 years.

I have been involved in disaster response since severe floods ravaged my own home town. We had 13” of rain in 6 hours, causing catastrophic dams failures to our largest dams. 26 Dams failed that day. I experienced firsthand the challenge our town, county and state faced dealing with the debris alone. I volunteered my expertise, equipment and staff and orchestrated the cleanup of one of three major roadways thru our town. The idea of ADRT was born, since that time I have responded with other NGO’s to New Orleans for Hurricane Katrina, Alabama for Hurricane Gustav and Texas for Hurricane Ike. I performed debris management tasks as well as set up PODS for population centers that service as much as 50,000 people.

I recently found myself in a position to respond to Haiti as Disaster Coordinator for a team of medical professionals. It was directed under the medical response branch. I was part of a team that took over a hospital in southern Haiti.  We performed hundreds of surgeries, treated thousands of patients and secured treatment of 8 Haitians in America.
